Replaced Virginity.
REPLACED VIRGINITY
Before I talk about this, I would like us to cast our minds back to some African epic movies.
A typical scene would be, on the couple’s wedding night, most especially if she is getting married into a royal family; a white bed sheet is spread for them to have an intercourse on and if the white sheet is blood stained, she is then considered a virgin and another celebration begins. And if there is no evidence, she is sometimes banished as the case maybe.
Who can remember such movies? Epic indeed!!!
Surprisingly, this ‘you must be a virgin’ thing is still practised in some African and Middle Eastern countries, so folks in these countries because of religious, social or cultural reasons do what you call; hymenplasty or revaginazation. This involves tightening the outer edges of the vagina by reconstructing the hymen tissue.
Interesting right?
This procedure is certainly a “cover up miracle” for girls who benefit from it.
But hey can we be real?
Even if you successfully deceive your potential spouse and in-laws that you have never had sex and of course the replaced hymen doesn’t leave room for any doubt. You may have seemed to have conquered, but deep down in your heart of hearts you know the truth.
As Rev Sam Oye once said
“If You spray your car and everyone thinks it is brand new, you will always know that it isn’t brand new”
The person will continue to leave with the guilt of deceiving people no matter how deep they conceal the truth.
This relates to different areas of our lives. I thought about this last year and prayed I wouldn’t do anything that I would have to look for a way to cover and that if I ever made a mistake because I’m humane I want to be honest enough to accept it and not drown in it.
I BELIEVE WHAT WE TRY TO HIDE IS WHAT KILLS US MOST TIMES.
One thing I love love about life is that it gives us room to change and be better people, but be careful not to think you can keep changing forever.
DISCLAIMER: This is no attempt to judge people who are or are not virgins. Even if you have lost it, it’s not the end of the road. Repentance is Just a step away to being the new you girl.
